These approaches help individuals build resilience and embrace their strengths for a transformative journey.
The length of a child's stay in day treatment depends on their individual needs and program guidelines. Typically, it lasts several weeks to months, with regular assessments to track progress. Communication with therapists and educators is key to determining the right duration for a successful transition to a less intensive setting, if desired.
Parents/guardians are crucial partners in their child's therapy, participating in family sessions to learn communication strategies and support techniques that enhance positive changes at home. Their insights into their child's behavior help therapists tailor interventions effectively. By fostering open communication and actively engaging in the healing process, parents can create a nurturing environment that promotes growth and resilience in their child's life.
Children in day treatment programs continue their academic studies alongside therapeutic activities under Thrive Day Academy, Inc. These programs include an educational component, enabling students to engage in coursework tailored to their learning needs. This integration enables them to make academic progress while receiving support, promoting a sense of normalcy and accomplishment that is essential for their growth and development.
Progress in a day treatment program is assessed through both quantitative & qualitative methods tailored to each child's goals. Regular evaluations by therapists track improvements in emotional regulation, social skills, and academics, while standardized assessments measure behavioral changes. Feedback from parents, teachers, and the child helps ensure treatment plans are effective. This comprehensive approach celebrates all achievements, fostering motivation and positive growth in their journey
A typical day from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM, starts with a morning check-in, followed by tailored academic instruction. Students participate in therapeutic group sessions, individual counseling, and creative activities like art or music therapy. After lunch, they participate in physical activities that promote health and teamwork, followed by educational coursework, and conclude with a closing circle for reflection and goal-setting.
